A woman has finally been arrested nearly two years after a deadly drunk driving collision in North Strabane Township, Pennsylvania.
Must Read:
According to police, Krysten McHenry was intoxicated with no license or insurance when she crossed the center line in December 2021 and crashed head-on into another car on Route 519. The violent collision right near the police station caused critical injuries.
However, after being charged with DUI and related offenses, McHenry managed to avoid custody and skipped her court dates over the past two years.
That changed this week, as North Strabane Police announced on Wednesday that McHenry was now in custody. She faces charges of DUI, accident involving injury/death while unlicensed, and others.
For the victims of her destructive decision to drive impaired, the long-overdue arrest provides only a fraction of closure. The pain inflicted that fateful December night cannot be undone.
But finally off the streets, McHenry will now have to answer for the extensive damage left behind. The community hopes the courts deliver the justice that this grieving family deserves.
