Mooresville, NC – A 16-year-old has died as a result of a single-vehicle car accident that occurred early Saturday morning in Mooresville, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

At approximately 3:20 a.m., the teenager was driving a 2014 Porsche 911 southbound on Brawley School Road when they drove off the right side of the road. The Porsche struck a tree and collided with a rock landscaping wall.
The 16-year-old driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other juvenile passengers were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver and front seat passenger were reportedly wearing seatbelts. However, the third passenger riding in the back area not designed for seating was unrestrained.
Excessive speed is being investigated as a factor in the fatal crash, highway patrol stated. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation.
