Three-Car Crash Shuts Down FM 481 Near Turkey Creek in Uvalde County

A three-car accident occurred on September 4th on Farm to Market Road 481 near Turkey Creek in southwest Uvalde County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, around 6 p.m., a 2019 Toyota Camry failed to brake in time and struck the rear of a stopped 2016 Chevrolet pickup truck. The impact caused the pickup truck to collide with a 2018 Nissan Rogue in front of it.

Two injured in wreck

The driver of the pickup, 63-year-old Haden A. Roach of Kerrville, refused medical treatment at the scene. His passenger, 64-year-old Yolanda Rodriguez, also of Kerrville, was taken to Uvalde Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Nissan, 55-year-old Barbara Schmitt of Uvalde, was also transported to the hospital, although no life-threatening injuries were reported.

The 33-year-old driver of the Camry, Heather M. Dunn of Austin, was not injured in the accident. The Department of Public Safety said a citation will likely be issued once the full report is complete.
