Tragic Madison County Crash: Three Victims Identified

Illinois State Police have identified the three victims killed in a deadly head-on collision on Friday morning in Madison County, Illinois.

The crash occurred around 4 a.m. on September 15 near the intersection of Illinois Route 4 and U.S. Route 40 near St. Jacob.

According to investigators, one of the drivers crossed the center line on Route 4, causing a head-on crash with the other vehicle. Both drivers and one passenger between the two cars died as a result of the collision.

The victims were identified as 21-year-old Chase Bowles of Alton, Illinois, 21-year-old Emily Morton of Nixa, Missouri, and 21-year-old Jayda Fulkerson of Marine, Illinois.

Sharon Bell, an employee at Tow Bar near the crash site, expressed sympathy for the victims’ families, stating “Our hearts do go out to all the family members of the victims.”

The Illinois State Police have not yet determined any additional factors that may have contributed to the deadly crash, which remains under investigation.
