A serious car accident occurred on Saturday morning on westbound State Route 94 at the College Avenue off-ramp in San Diego.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Camry carrying a 33-year-old woman and her two children was traveling on Route 94 around 9:45 a.m. For unknown reasons, the Camry swerved lanes and collided with a Dodge Challenger.
The impact caused the Camry to flip over, ejecting the woman’s 10-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son from the vehicle. The children were not properly secured by seatbelts at the time. They sustained major injuries in the crash, which officers described as non-life-threatening.
After the collision, both vehicles came to rest on the College Avenue on-ramp. The 43-year-old female driver of the Challenger was also hospitalized along with the Camry driver. Their current medical conditions are unavailable.
The CHP is continuing to investigate the cause of the accident. They reminded drivers to always wear seatbelts and ensure child passengers are properly secured to prevent ejections and reduce injury.
