A 14-year-old boy from Zeeland, Michigan tragically died in a solo car crash in Overisel Township Friday morning, according to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office. The accident occurred on 137th Avenue near 44th Street when the teenager’s Jeep Wrangler veered off the road and collided head-on with a tree.
First responders arriving on the scene found the vehicle on fire. After extinguishing the flames, they discovered the 14-year-old driver deceased inside the burnt car.
Authorities said the victim’s identity is being withheld at this time due to his age, pending notification of family. Speed is considered a possible factor in the deadly crash according to a preliminary investigation.
