Breaking News: Genoa Woman Injured in 2-Car Crash in Rural Sycamore

A two-vehicle collision in Sycamore, Illinois on Tuesday afternoon resulted in injuries to a 53-year-old Genoa woman.

The crash occurred around 3 p.m. at the rural intersection of Peace and Freed Roads according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. A 17-year-old Sycamore driver turned left in their Infiniti and collided with a Chrysler 200 traveling northbound.

The Genoa woman, a passenger in the Chrysler, was taken to a local hospital by paramedics for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds. Both drivers were unharmed in the impact.

Authorities said all occupants were wearing seat belts when the crash transpired. The teenage driver, who failed to properly yield while turning left, was cited by police.

While serious, officials indicated the woman’s injuries were not considered life-threatening. The crash remains under investigation but serves as a reminder about intersection safety and attentive driving in the close-knit community.
