Man dies two days after shooting, D.C. police say

Gant was hospitalized in critical condition suffering from gunshot injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, he sadly succumbed to those traumatic wounds two days later.

Details are still limited on any suspects or motive in the shooting. Investigators have also not confirmed whether the man’s wounds directly resulted from the shooting or subsequent vehicle crash.

While circumstances remain unclear, the community is mournful over the loss of a young life. For the victim’s grieving family, the painful events of this week elicited the worst fears imaginable.

As homicide detectives work to unravel this mystery, they hope any new evidence or witnesses will provide critical answers and a measure of closure.
