A 19-year-old college student was arrested after crashing his Mercedes into another car on Mumbai’s Bandra-Worli Sea Link on Sunday morning, injuring two people.

The accused, Jay Bansode, was driving from Bandra towards Worli when his vehicle collided with an SUV. The two occupants of the SUV, Deepak Kasturi, and Anjali Aggarwal, were injured in the crash and taken to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra for treatment.
After the collision, Bansode fled the scene. Police were able to identify and apprehend him using the Mercedes’ registration details. The luxury vehicle belonged to one of Bansode’s relatives.
Authorities stated Bansode was not under the influence of alcohol at the time. His vehicle was impounded and he was arrested and charged with rash and negligent driving as well as other relevant sections. After a medical examination, Bansode was released on a notice under CrPC section 41(A).

In a separate incident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, a container overturned and collided with five cars, resulting in two deaths and four injuries on Monday morning. According to officials, the container driver lost control of the vehicle in the Khopoli area, causing the truck to overturn into oncoming traffic and crash into the cars.
