A serious motor vehicle collision on Route 1 in New Castle County, Delaware resulted in a dramatic rescue effort on Wednesday morning. Around 7:54am, emergency crews were alerted to the crash with entrapment in the vicinity of Pulaski Highway.

Upon arrival, responders found a 25-year-old male victim trapped within the wreckage of the vehicle. Teams worked quickly to free the man from the damaged car.
The patient was transported by ambulance in critical condition, suffering head and chest trauma. New Castle County paramedics accompanied him to provide urgent medical care.
In the aftermath, the Delaware State Police took over investigating the circumstances leading to the unfortunate crash. Route 1 northbound remained closed for an extended period as authorities examined the scene.
