Tragedy on the Highway: Passenger Dies in Collision Involving 4WD Towing Caravan

A tragic highway collision near Dubbo, NSW over the weekend has claimed the life of a man believed to be in his 60s.

The fatal crash occurred Saturday morning around 10:15 a.m. on the Newell Highway in the state’s central west region. Police said a Kia and a 4WD towing a caravan collided at the scene.

Four occupants of the Kia were transported to Dubbo Base Hospital following the devastating impact. One passenger was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in critical condition.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the head-on crash is underway. A report will be prepared for the coroner on the latest roadway fatality.
