Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision Shakes I-459: Man Loses Life

A 28-year-old man has died following a fatal motorcycle collision involving multiple vehicles in Bessemer, Alabama Thursday night.

According to Bessemer Police, Harley William Dale Cantrell of Clanton was the sole rider of a motorcycle involved in the wreck, which occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Interstate 459 North near Morgan Road.

Responding officers arrived to find Cantrell deceased at the multi-vehicle crash scene. He was pronounced dead at 8:02 p.m.

The circumstances leading up to the devastating accident are now under investigation by Bessemer police. While details are still limited, authorities noted the crash occurred at the beginning of the busy Labor Day holiday weekend.
