Car vs. Train Accident: CR 160 Back in Operation After Temporary Closure

CLARK COUNTY, Ind. – A major road closure occurred in Clark County, Indiana early Tuesday following a train versus car collision at a railroad crossing.

According to the Monroe Township Fire Department, Indiana State Road 160 was closed at the train tracks due to the crash, along with nearby Hebron Church Road.

Authorities say a car collided with a train at the railroad crossing around daybreak. One person in the car was transported to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The train was stationary for a period but began moving again by 9:15 a.m. as first responders cleared the scene.

Indiana State Road 160 and Hebron Church Road have since reopened after being temporarily shut down due to the train and car collision Tuesday morning that sent one person to the hospital.

An investigation into the events leading up to the railroad crossing accident remains ongoing.
