Fountain City, WI – A major multi-vehicle accident on Highway 35 in Fountain City, Wisconsin left 6 people injured on Wednesday, with 2 airlifted from the scene.

The crash occurred around noon just north of Fountain City when a southbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle head-on near Park Street, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
This precipitated a pile-up involving 3 other vehicles. Injuries ranged from serious to minor, with 2 victims airlifted to hospitals and 4 others taken away in ambulances.
Both lanes of Highway 35 were closed for several hours during the aftermath and investigation. The cause of the initial vehicle crossing the center line remains unclear.
Multiple emergency agencies responded, including fire, EMS from Wisconsin and Minnesota, and sheriff’s deputies. The collision shut down the highway and disrupted traffic in the area.
