The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police investigation. Excessive speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. However, sun glare may have affected the driver’s visibility, and the woman was reportedly crossing outside of a crosswalk.

Police rerouted traffic in the area during the initial investigation, but the roads have since reopened. Anyone with information or footage related to the incident is asked to contact the Calgary Police non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
