Reckless Driving Charges Filed After Tragic I-95 Crash in Hanover County

A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 95 in Hanover County, Virginia on Saturday evening.

According to Virginia State Police, at approximately 2:51 pm a 2013 Chevrolet sedan driven by 30-year-old Sierra Todd-Winkler of Raleigh, North Carolina crashed into a tree after running off the interstate near mile marker 91.6.

The front seat passenger, 50-year-old Tasha Green of Henrico County, died at the scene from her injuries sustained in the collision. Police reported she was not wearing a seatbelt.

Driver Todd-Winkler was transported by ambulance to VCU Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. She has been charged with reckless driving.

The circumstances surrounding the fatal I-95 crash remain under investigation by Virginia State Police. They reminded motorists to always wear seatbelts and drive carefully, especially on interstates.
