The South Elgin High School community in Illinois is grieving after two students were killed in a car crash on Thursday morning. The victims were identified as 17-year-old Kammora Campbell of Bartlett and 16-year-old Talulah Henry of Elgin.

According to police, the two girls were passengers in a Honda Civic containing four South Elgin students. The Civic collided with a dump truck while attempting a left turn at an intersection minutes before the first school bell.
Campbell and Henry tragically died from injuries sustained in the devastating crash. The two other students, both female, survived and were hospitalized. One required airlift to a second hospital for treatment.
A family member stated two of the girls in the Civic were related, but further details were not provided. The dump truck driver also survived the collision.
Students created a memorial outside the school football field to honor their lost classmates. A game on Friday will see attendees wearing red, green, and yellow in remembrance. The South Elgin community is rallying around the families as they grieve this sudden, heartbreaking loss.
