A scary collision between an SUV, city bus and sedan sent two bus passengers to the hospital Saturday evening in downtown Victoria.

The crash occurred around 5:30 pm at the busy intersection of Douglas and Bay Streets, captured on video from a nearby security camera.
The footage shows a black SUV sideswiping the front of a BC Transit bus traveling north on Douglas, shattering its windshield. The SUV then collided head-on with a stopped sedan on Bay Street.
BC Transit reported there were passengers aboard the bus at the time. Two were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. No other serious injuries were reported, despite the dramatic impact.
The front of the bus was severely damaged, losing service after the frightening collision. BC Transit thanked emergency crews for their quick response and said they will assist Victoria police in investigating the disturbing downtown crash.
For witnesses, the sounds of crunching metal and sight of an out-of-control SUV careening into a city bus and sedan made for a tense, alarming scene on Saturday evening. Thankfully despite the dangerous collision, no life-threatening injuries occurred.
