Nicholas County, WV – A 25-year-old man died in a fatal head-on collision in Nicholas County, West Virginia on Sunday, September 10.

According to the sheriff’s office, Corey Amon Moore of Beckley was traveling south on U.S. Route 19 when his vehicle crossed the median into the northbound lane, striking another vehicle head-on before hitting an embankment.
Moore was pronounced dead at the hospital from injuries sustained in the devastating crash. The driver of the other vehicle involved was treated and released from the hospital.
Investigators say Moore’s vehicle had veered out of the southbound lane prior to crossing over and colliding with the northbound vehicle.
The circumstances surrounding the deadly head-on crash remain under investigation by Nicholas County authorities. Speed and other factors may have contributed to the tragic accident that claimed Moore’s life.
