FRESNO, CA – A driver was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash near a Fresno elementary school Tuesday afternoon stemming from a dangerous mid-road U-turn, police reported.

The collision occurred near Olive and Winery Avenues when an unidentified driver performed a U-turn outside Ewing Elementary School and was struck by an oncoming black pickup truck.
The truck careened towards Carozza Park after the impact that left both vehicles damaged. One person was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries as a precaution.
