Mimosa Tragedy: 40-Year-Old Man’s Life Ends in Car Accident

A man has died when his car smashed into a tree and caught on fire in rural NSW.

Police say a Toyota LandCruiser ute crashed on Old Wagga South Rd, Mimosa at 8.30 pm on Thursday night.

It’s believed the ute was driving south on the road when it veered off and hit a tree, before catching alight.

The 40-year-old male driver died at the scene.

“Officers from Riverina Police District established a crime scene, and an investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash,” NSW Police said.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Mimosa is located 77km away from Wagga Wagga.

Anyone with any information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

The circumstances leading to the fatal single-vehicle crash are under investigation. The identity of the deceased driver has not been released. Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward as they work to determine what factors led to the tragic accident.
